What is the main feature of winetalkers.tv and what can I use it for?
The main feature of winetalkers.tv is its great power to spread your word and knowledge about the world of wine and gastronomy, contact and meet new friends who love wine culture, share your daily tasting experiences and / or pairings in a very simple and powerful way ... and of course continue to learn from the experiences that are shared by the community (Talkers).
Is it free?
Yes, you can join winetalkers.tv for free.
Can I use my account from other social networks to join?
Yes, you can use your Twitter or Facebook account to Sign in at winetalkers.tv faster, and also take advantage of the automatic echo feature among the three networks so that your comments get to all your friends and followers.
Automatic Echo
On winetalkers.tv you can integrate your Twitter and Facebook accounts which allows you to spread what you post at winetalkers.tv to Twitter and Facebook networks automatically (automatic echo) ...additonally, you can get all your tweets included in your winetalkers.tv conversation (comments), automatically. All of this is configurable from your settings page once you are logged in.
Should I have a Twitter and/or Facebook account to join winetalkers.tv?
No, but if you have and integrate them with your account at winetalkers.tv your conversation will be much more powerful and dynamic, building an integrated personal audience from the three networks with no additional work on your part.
How I can include photos, videos or articles?
In a very simple way, just include the link for photo, video or article in your comment. If you include multiple links, the first will be taken as a content to add. Make sure the link goes before any twitter short name (eg @ pacomitico). Try it!
How I can create my photo galleries, videos or articles?
These galleries will be created automatically from links you go adding, of different types of content, in your comments. Try it!
How do I include my comments on a picture, video or article on its card (page)?
You can write comments about the content (photo, video or article) directly on its card (page). Also you can automatically include these comments from any other part of this site or Twitter using the link to that card (page of the photo, video or article) the comment (or tweet) as the first link (of the comment). On the card (page of the photo, video or article) of the content there is an option which will show you a short link created specifically for that card (page) so you save characters of your tweet on Twitter.
How do I include a wine tasting?
The tasting notes are added to the card (page) of wine. You can get to that card (page) directly from the wine gallery or looking for that wine using the search box on the upper right. See the section: 'How do I find a wine?' for details of the process. You can write tasting comments about the wine directly on its card (page). Also you can automatically include these comments from any other part of this site or Twitter using the link to that card (wine page) in the comment (or tweet) as the first link (of the comment). On the wine card (wine page) there is an option which will show you a short link created specifically for that content so you save characters of your tweet on Twitter.
Including tasting notes or comments from Twitter
Use # for general or tasting tags and #p_ for tasting tags. For tasting notes you should include the link to wine card (wine page) in the comment (or tweet) as the first link (of the comment). On the wine card (wine page) there is an option which will show you a short link created specifically for that content so you save characters of your tweet on Twitter.
How do I find a wine?
Use the search box on the upper right. As you type the name of the wine you are looking for, it will automatically begin to load a list under the text box of wines that match what you are writing. Choose, and click the wine you were looking from this list, you will automatically be redirected to the information about the wine. If no one has said anything about the wine you will just be redirected to the first taste form and be the first taster of this wine in winetalkers.tv. If the wine you are looking for is not listed, choose the closest one or any other that has not yet been registered at winetalkers.tv, change the name and details of that wine in the original tasting notes and go! ... you will be the first taster of that wine.
How do I associate a picture, showing the bottle and label, of a wine?
If you are doing this from the first tasting form read how to do it carefully, it's all explained in the form. But if is from the card (page) of wine use the Edit link for it (only if you have been the first taster).
On winetalkers.tv a wine card (page) collects information from all vintages for this wine
It is important to note that on winetalkers.tv the card of a wine can gather and display information for all existing vintages (or for which have been mentioned by some member (Talker)) for the wine. By default, the card (page) of a wine displays information of all vintages. To filter on a specific vintage click on the year (link) in the vintages and prices area (on wine page).
